touch partners with the Lebanese Red Cross in another blood donation campaign.
Beirut – July 15, 2019: For the second consecutive year, touch, the leading mobile telecommunications and data operator in Lebanon, managed by Zain Group, has combined efforts with the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) for another year, and conducted a blood donation campaign targeting touch employees.
The purpose of the initiative was to encourage blood donation and raise awareness on its importance, as well as to motivate touch employees to remain committed to their civic duties and donate blood whenever possible.
Through this campaign, touch aims to promote the mission and volunteering ethos within its corporate sustainability program, Positive touch, bringing together a great number of people who believe in the power of giving, which is part of touch’s internal culture.
Blood banks in Lebanon suffer from recurring shortages of blood stocks, while families of patients often have to look for suitable donors when needed. Blood and blood elements play a central role in virtually every aspect of medical care and so it is crucial to maintain ample reserves of this precious resource. Through this latest blood drive, touch managed to collect a significant number of units that were sent directly to the LRC’s Blood Transfusion Services Center.
