touch Network Modernization

Beirut, November 3, 2025: touch announced that the completion of phase one of the critical network infrastructure upgrade, particularly for the 4G network, has resulted in a significant and continuous increase in the average daily data usage of its subscribers, jumping from 370 terabytes to 575 terabytes, a 55% increase compared to 2024. This growth reflects the increasing confidence of its subscribers in the network's improved performance.

Touch’s latest and most important network enhancement in the last 3 months focused on bringing several new stations online and upgrading existing ones. This upgrade, which included adding new sites and equipping other stations across Lebanon with additional sectors, is the latest measure to simultaneously boost coverage and capacity. These sites included, but were not limited to: Abdeh, Chadra, Zgharta, Hammana, Anjar, Qaa, Deir al-Ashayer, Faraya, Harat Sakhr, Beirut, and Baakline. These upgrades will increase the network's overall capacity and improve service and coverage for customers.

"touch's technical teams are working tirelessly to ensure the full implementation of the network upgrade plan within the timeframes agreed upon with the Ministry of Telecommunications”, as stated by Karim Salim Salaam, touch Chairman and General Manager. He added “our top priority is to ensure service stability and reliability, along with good coverage for our valued subscribers. The remarkable increase in average daily data consumption is a strong indicator that our customers are gradually experiencing tangible improvements in service quality."

These improvements are part of the first phase of Minister of Telecommunications Charles Hajj's comprehensive three-year plan and vision for developing the telecommunications sector. This plan aims to prepare for the gradual and well-planned rollout of 5G services, including optimizing the existing infrastructure and upgrading network components, particularly 4G, in line with 5G's technical requirements. This strategy relies on a carefully planned gradual network upgrade, rather than building entirely new infrastructure. This allows for faster implementation and reduced costs, while maintaining and improving service quality. Therefore, touch is committed to upgrading its network with 5G-compatible technologies.
