Mobile TV from touch: Live TV and Video on Demand on the Go!

Beirut, August 29 2013: Under the auspices and in the presence of the Minister of Telecommunications, Nicolas Sehnaoui, touch launched Mobile TV, a service with no precedence in the Lebanese market. Mobile TV provides Video on Demand (VoD) and Live TV from top notch local and international channels to touch subscribers!

touch Mobile TV subscribers can watch live from their favorite shows, keep up with all the breaking news as it happens and tune into the latest movies. This new service from touch, the leading mobile operator in Lebanon managed by Zain, is available on 3.9G or through Wifi connection.

Touch partnered with E2M (Entertainment to Mobile SAL), a Lebanese systems integrator and solutions provider, which designed a turnkey solution to enable the delivery of audiovisual content to mobile devices. With this regards, General Manager of E2M, Mr. Jad Atallah, explained, “E2M & Touch have succeeded in developing the most competitive Mobile TV & OTT platform in the region adding the Lebanese flag to the world of new-media digital map.”

From his side, Mr. Nadim Khater, touch’s Chief Commercial Officer, commented, “With Mobile TV, touch powerfully entered the world of content provision. Along with watching local and international channels, subscribers can also download locally and internationally produced videos on demand. Our TV offering could be viewed on any web connected device including tablets, TVs, PCs and smartphones without affecting the consumer’s data plan given that billing is based on the subscribed viewing hours. E2M’s role was paramount in developing this state-of-the-art product, and they proved to be capable, creative, and knowledgeable and delivered to the highest quality standards.”

The Minister of Telecommunications, Nicolas Sehnaoui, stated, “The world of telecommunications is constantly developing; we have promised to offer the people positive initiatives, and we have kept this promise thanks to touch’s dedication and efforts.” Sehnaoui focused on the important role that the digital industry plays in boosting the Lebanese economy by providing work opportunities for the youth which in turn retains them in their home country.  He confirmed that the ministry is working with the Central Bank of Lebanon to provide the companies in the industry with the needed financial support to further establish and develop their work. The minister also explained that the Mobile TV launch represents one of the promising initiatives that Lebanon is capable of producing tracing the future of technology in the world.
