Government commends touch staff sacrifices to maintain telecom services in conflict zones

Chairman and General Manager of touch, Karim Salim Salaam, met with Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam. The meeting addressed the overall status of the telecommunications sector and the company's performance during the past period, as well as its plans and objectives for the coming period.


During the meeting, Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam praised the significant efforts of touch and all those working in the telecommunications sector. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation for their dedication and high sense of national responsibility in maintaining the continuity of this vital sector under exceptional circumstances. He emphasized the importance of the telecommunications sector as a cornerstone for supporting citizens, institutions, and the Lebanese economy.


Karim Salaam briefed the Prime Minister on the exceptional efforts of touch working teams across Lebanon, particularly in dangerous and affected areas, to ensure network continuity, maintain service stability, and provide mobile telecommunication for citizens despite the difficult conditions. He also emphasized the level of commitment, professionalism, and dedication demonstrated by the company's employees, which contributed to maintaining the sector's readiness and operational continuity.


Furthermore, Salaam presented the company's vision and future plans, which fall under the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Telecommunications, Engineer Charles Hajj, and focus on network modernization, service development, enhancing digital transformation, and working to rehabilitate and strengthen the telecommunications infrastructure in affected areas.
